The short version
Agrid publishes source-linked business information, does not sell submission data, and does not let public submissions change records without moderation.
Information Agrid handles
Public company information
Company names, locations, websites, business contact details, capabilities, source references, and other industry facts may be indexed when obtained from an authorised or public first-party source. These are business records, but a business email or phone number can still identify a person and is treated carefully.
Claims and corrections
When you submit a claim or correction, Agrid receives the details shown in the form: your name, email, relationship to the company, proposed changes, reason, and any evidence you choose to provide. The service also creates a protected request fingerprint and a one-way hash of the request address for abuse prevention and audit integrity.
Technical information
Hosting and security systems may process ordinary request logs such as time, requested URL, browser information, and network address. Agrid stores a theme preference in your browser when you choose light or dark mode. The public site currently has no user accounts or advertising-cookie system.
Why information is used
- Operate, search, source, and improve the public industry directory.
- Verify claims and evidence before changing a public record.
- Prevent duplicate submissions, abuse, fraud, and unauthorised changes.
- Contact a submitter when evidence or authority needs clarification.
Agrid does not sell claim or correction contact details and does not publish them as part of a company profile.
Retention and protection
Claims and corrections remain private moderation records. Current operational limits schedule personal information in active workflows for review within 365 days, resolved-workflow personal information for redaction within 90 days, and protected backup copies for expiry within 30 days. Security and maintenance checks prevent production readiness when required privacy controls are stale.
Access is limited to authorised moderation and operational roles. Public company facts and non-personal workflow audit events may be retained longer to preserve provenance and the integrity of correction decisions.
Your choices
You may ask Agrid to correct a public company record, explain the source of a published fact, or review personal information supplied through a moderation workflow. Use the corrections and claims page for record changes.
If a request concerns your own personal information, include enough detail to identify the submission without sending identity documents unless Agrid specifically requests a secure verification method.
Privacy contact
Email hello@agrid.co.za with the subject “Privacy request”. Agrid may need to verify authority before disclosing, changing, or deleting information.
This notice will be updated when the service, its processors, or its collection practices materially change.
